Adam Kilgore

Atomic Machines, Lead Mechanical and Design Engineer

Adam has vast experience in engineering product development and has led many successful products from concept through launch. He has developed and brought emerging technologies to production including sensors, cameras, power electronics, and mechanisms for automotive, consumer electronics, and autonomous robotics industries.

Currently, Adam is one of the engineering leads and first hire at Atomic Machines.  Atomic Machines is a seed-stage company that envisions an era of atomically precise manufacturing (APM), essentially 3D printing anything at the molecular level, making anything from its digital description, blurring the line between bits and atoms.

Before Atomic Machines, Adam was Head of Hardware engineering at Marble Robot (acquired by Caterpillar), Product Development Engineering Tech Lead for camera products at Google Nest.

Adam was also at Tesla Motors where he was part of the original Model-S and Model-X vehicle engineering teams and invented and led the design, development and implementation of several mechanisms including the Model-S outside door handle, door and latching systems, and the Model-X falcon wing door.  He also spent time on the Autopilot team, with whom he worked on the design and development of Autopilot hardware including cameras and overall system design architecture.  Adam has extensive experience with engineering safety critical components and systems.
