Co-Founder, Mitchell Williams

Richard Williams is the co-founder and current Of Counsel of the distinguished law firm of Mitchell Williams, which has offices in Arkansas and Texas. He has represented sellers of large corporations in several of the largest actions of their type ever to occur in Arkansas. Richard is among a select group of attorneys to have lectured at the N.Y.U. Federal Tax Institute, the most prestigious tax program in America. He has also lectured in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, and written articles for all of the major national tax journals. His personal expertise also includes tax planning for large corporations, representing real estate developers, preparing complex estate plans involving corporate and partnership recapitalizations and multiple trusts, and serving as editor of Legal Economics, a magazine published by the Section of Economics of Law Practice of the American Bar Association. He also served on the staff of the nonprofit section of the Internal Revenue Service. 

Richard received a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Texas and later completed his LL.B at the University of Texas. Beyond his academic achievements and long-standing legal career, Richard believes in service and has always been an active member of the community. He is a current member of the Arkansas Bar Association, the former Chairman of the Easter Seals Society, a Fellow at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the former President of Central Arkansas Estate Council, the former Chairman of St. Vincent Development Foundation Board, a former Board Member of Museum of Discovery and a member of Temple B’Nai Israel. In 2016, he was named “Jewish Man of the Year” by the Jewish Federation of Arkansas for his nearly 60 years of public service.
